For quite a while now, Tata Motors’ EV portfolio has been receiving an overwhelming response from customers. But the bestselling Tata electric vehicle is the Nexon EV. In the EV segment in India, the Tata Nexon is one of the bestselling premium mass-market cars. If you compare it with the MG ZS EV, the starting price of the ZS EV crosses the Rs 20 lakh mark. And, if you speak of sales, the Tata Nexon EV has the leading figures. But that doesn’t indicate that the MG ZS EV is a bad vehicle. One of the primary reasons behind the short sales of the MG ZS EV is its price. However, these two vehicles are well equipped with features, comfort, and safety. The Range Game
Let’s begin with a bigger battery pack, unlike the Tata Nexon EV. On paper, the MG ZS EV boasts a 50.3 kWh battery pack that has a claimed range of 461km. This motor produces 173.83bhp and 280Nm of torque. The motor sends power to the front wheels, making it an FWD car.
On the contrary, the Tata Nexon EV has two engine options: a 30.2 kWh battery pack that produces 74bhp and 170Nm of torque; this unit has a claimed range of 312km.
Then another variant is the Tata Nexon EV Max, which has a larger battery pack of 40.5 kWh, capable of churning out 141bhp and 250Nm of torque. And the interesting bit is that the Tata Nexon EV Max takes less than 9 seconds to sprint from 0 to 100km/h!

Features Clash
Both vehicles sport a good number of features, be it comfort, entertainment, or safety. So, let’s begin with the homegrown EV.
The Tata Nexon EV Max gets a Harman-sourced 17.78 cm touchscreen infotainment unit with voice control, four speakers, and four tweeters. Passengers can also access Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Apart from that, comfort features include front ventilated seats, glove box cooling, all-four-power windows, auto HVAC, smart access card entry, keyless entry, hands-free tailgate, etc.

Prices and Variants
As far as pricing is concerned, the ZS EV has two variants on offer: Excite and Exclusive. The former variant of the MG Astor’s price is Rs 22 lakh, while the latter variant is Rs 25.88 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi, as of August 2022.
On the other hand, the “Max,” or the long-range-spec variant of the Tata Nexon EV, is exclusive to the XZ trim. The starting ex-showroom price of the Tata Nexon EV Max is Rs 18.34 lakh for the base model, EV Max XZ Plus. And it goes all the way up to Rs 19.84 lakh for the top model, EV Max XZ Plus Lux Fast Charger. All are ex-showroom prices in Delhi as of August 2022.
